classes & Concerts - see us LIVE!

Voted "Best of 2009" by L.A. Parent Magazine and designed for monolingual families in a multi-cultural world as an introduction to another language - Spanish! Our classes have been beloved by all, but in an effort to reach even wider audiences and a greater number of families, most (but not all) classes are on hiatus through the summer of 2010. Gracias to all who have attended ~ come see our shows LIVE!!!!!

more about the classes...

Classes introduce the sounds and words of Español in a fun and playful way specifically oriented toward the young and little people of our community at a critical period of language development and acquisition. Addressing multiple intelligences and learning styles, children and their caregivers participate in songs, play, and ritualized communication that can be easily repeated and reinforced at home. It's practical, yet whimsical too. It works!

CLASS CURRICULUM is centered on music and the lyrics of habla blah blah's self-titled CD, habla blah blah: an introduction to the sounds and words of Español, Volumes One and Dos. The class is 100% bilingual, though we do not mandate immersion at this stage for greater effectivity. Additionally, the introduction of one animal and one food is made each week utilizing tangible objects and real food. We provide tips and crafts to encourage further Spanish in the home and sing a selection of traditional songs to familiarize families with Spanish culture. The goal is to engage the child with each of their five senses each class for a richer and multi-dimensional knowledge of Spanish.
