Meet the mothers, our contributors
Stephanie is a freelance writer, co-founder of Culture Clips, and former U.S. Diplomat. She has lived in eight countries, traveled in more than 30 countries on five continents, and speaks English, Spanish, and a smattering of other languages. An insatiable explorer, she is typically found on a random dirt road in a village somewhere. Stephanie is married and has two daughters, a dog, and a fish named Bud.
Amy founded Habla Blah Blah for the love of culture and children nearly 10 years ago. She is the Executive Producer of all music and video content @ HBB, an Applied Anthropologist, passionate traveller, and lifelong student of Spanish. A native Los Angelean, she lives with her husband, three inspiring kids, and their street dog affectionately carried home from a sojourn in Mexico named 'Hola Ricky Fuente'.
Candice works in technology as a digital content strategist. Originally from the East Coast U.S., Candice can be found chasing her two kids or dog on the West Coast beaches while her husband rips up the surf and she plans their next trip somewhere.
Melanie is a Windowbox Gardener in Indianapolis, Indiana, who zealously travels the globe with her family. Her teenagers live with their eyes wide open thanks to their immersion in a variety of cultures and service work. When she isn't busy scoping out their next adventurous destination, Melanie volunteers with Building Tomorrow to help build sustainable schools in rural East Africa. A day spent hiking with her family and her 2 quirky pups, Oscar and Daisy Duke, is the best day ever!
Ann Marie has traveled widely on five continents. After earning degrees from Stanford and Harvard, she worked for several NGOs and the U.S. Department of State, promoting human rights in Asia. Ann Marie currently lives in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, with her husband and two young sons who have effortlessly soaked up the language. She is writing her first novel.
Lara is a writer and a poet with Master Degrees in Journalism and Social Work. With 20 years of study in meditation and yoga, Lara is a teacher of Parenting and Mindfulness, and squeezes in work with the Global Nomads Group time permitting. Lara has traveled The Americas, Europe and The Middle East, but knows it’ll never be enough. Lara holds addictions in dark chocolate, potato chips and hip hop dancing. She is also a wife and mother to two boys, two cats and one dog with the energy of two.
Kim is a professional artist and award-winning songwriter. She lives in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, as a “global citizen”. Kim joined Habla Blah Blah’s production team in 2012 as a graphic artist, music producer, strategist and songstress. Her interests are in the human condition, and how family, society and culture shape us. She is a long-time student of Buddhism, yoga and meditation. She believes it is not an opinion but fact — we are all ONE.
Renée is an executive and life coach, business consultant, workshop leader, world traveler and writer. Her family is fueled by their passion for travel, which includes 45+ countries and counting. Inspired by these experiences, she is writing a book she hopes will expand some of the limiting paradigms that keep parents from traveling with children.
